Houston Ford Dealers Will Be Working With Two Ford Operational Units
Houston Ford dealers will be working with two Ford Operational Units beginning in 2023 according to an announcement on March 2nd by company CEO Jim Farley.
In an announcement during which Farley described the change as, “…one of the biggest changes in our history today,” Ford unveiled an operational split along “Legacy” and “EV” vehicles meaning that Houstonians can expect even more specialized care and service.
This move to two operational units will help the company address the unique needs and desires of the two market segments – those wanting cars and trucks powered by internal combustion engines and those wanting to take advantage of technological innovations resulting from the increased EV and other technologies investment. The automaker raised its planned EV investment from $30 Billion (through 2025) to $50 Billion by 2026.
Ford expects the move, based upon the successful strategy it follows with the commercial vehicles segment, will streamline operations, particularly in the growing electric vehicle segment. This streamlining should be noticeable as Houston Ford dealers such as AutoNation Ford, Baytown Ford, Legacy Ford and Mac Haik Ford see supply chains shorten; inventories increase and the already exceptional commitment to customer service grow even stronger.
